Dhaka, Feb 16 (UNB) - Indira Road Krira Chakra beat Wari Club by two wickets in the opening match of the First Division Cricket League at the City Club ground today (Friday). Opted to bat first, Wari Club scored 137 runs for all in 43.3 overs riding on a 59-run knock by opener Ashkar Rahman John. Ahmed Kabir played the key role for Indira Road KC to restrict the opposition total hauling five wickets giving away 37 runs in 10 overs while Rahman Malik and Golam Mustafa took two wickets each. Chasing the paltry total, Indira Road KC also fell in trouble but number-nine batsman Mohammed Sweet helped his team reach the target scoring 140 runs for eight wickets in 36.2 overs. Opener Bappi was the other notable scorer making 21 runs off 28 deliveries. Monirul Islam picked up four wickets conceding 32 runs while Ziaul Haque took two wickets for 45 runs. |
